Why is my Samsung Phone not showing Super Fast Charging 2.0?
Samsung Super Fast Charging 2.0 (SFC 2.0) charging indicator will only appear when certain requirements are met.
1. Phone Compatibility
Samsung phones models as early as Samsung Note 10 Plus supports 45W wired charging. However, there was a change in the charging protocol which result with GaN chargers not supporting SFC 2.0 indicator despite being able to support 65W or even 100W.
For the Samsung Galaxy S24 series, only the S24+ and S24 Ultra models support 45W SFC 2.0. The S24 model does not support SFC 2.0 but does support SFC 1.0
GSMArena is a nice website for users to check whether their phone supports 45W SFC 2.0.
2. Charger Compatibility
The GaN chargers nowadays are able to output 100W, 140W or even higher. However, not having the SFC 2.0 charging protocol in these charger would not have the SFC 2.0 indicator, showing up.
A 45W or higher charger, that supports SFC 2.0 is required. Such as our GXM 95W GaN PD 4-Port Wall Charger.
3. Charging Cable
SFC requires at least 25W (SFC 2.0 is 45W), the common USB to Type-C cable will only support up to Fast Charging (15W-18W) for Samsung phones.
In order to reach SFC, a Type-C to Type-C cable rated at 5A (100W) is recommend. Such as our GXM Pioneer Type-C to Type-C cable.
